Root Canals

Finally, stress-free endodontic care

At Omnia Dental, we recognize how root canals have a less-than-stellar reputation. However, the relatively simple treatment alleviates the pain associated with infected or abscessed teeth. Why Would I Need a Root Canal?

Your teeth are protected by a hard outer layer called the dental enamel and beneath it is a softer layer called the dentin. At the very center of each tooth is a space called the pulp chamber, which houses blood vessels, connective tissues, and nerves that keep the teeth healthy and alive.

Your dental pulp is well protected. However, deep decay, trauma, or damaged dental work can open a pathway for harmful bacteria, leading to inflamed or infected pulp tissues. Because the nerves are located in this area, tooth pulp infections can be considerably painful.

If you develop tooth pulp damage, we may recommend a root canal. The endodontic treatment is the only option to save a damaged tooth, restoring its health, form, and function. Left untreated, tooth pulp damage will continue to progress, and the pain will worsen, often requiring tooth extraction

Comfortable and Stress-Free Root Canals

Incredible advances in endodontic technology and dental anesthetics have been game changers, allowing us to perform virtually painless root canal treatments comparable to repairing cavities. We're also known for our gentle approach to dentistry and our commitment to providing anxiety-free dental care

If you are overly anxious about an upcoming root canal procedure, let us know. We may recommend dental sedation to ensure you are calm and relaxed during treatment.

Omnia Dental’s State-of-the-Art Implant Technology

At Omnia Dental, we use cutting-edge Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) technology for a 360-degree view of your mouth and to capture high-resolution 2D and detailed 3D perspectives of your teeth, sinuses, nerve pathways, tissues, and bone.

One of the most common reasons behind a root canal procedure’s failure is missing a root canal during treatment. CBCT scans reveal unusual root canal anatomy, missed canals, canal perforations, and much more, contributing to the procedure's success.

What Can I Expect from Root Canal Treatment?

Root canal therapy is not the scary, painful procedure it's been made out to be. The routine endodontic treatment is mostly lengthy, so we invite you to take time away from your busy schedule, kick back, relax, and enjoy your favorite TV show or listen to soothing music.

We will start your procedure by numbing the affected tooth and the surrounding area. We will also provide dental sedation, if needed, for your comfort. The next step is making a small opening in the tooth's crown to access and remove the diseased tooth pulp. We'll ensure we remove every trace of the infection, then sterilize the inside of the tooth and fill it with a rubber-like material called gutta-percha. The final step is sealing the tooth and placing a temporary filling.

After a root canal procedure, the treated tooth will become brittle and prone to fracture, which is why we recommend placing a dental crown made to look just like your natural teeth. With proper care, your restored tooth can last a lifetime!
